have a big impact

Make a two-minute phone call to your U.S. Representative and your U.S. Senators and urge them to take specific action on a timely issue. We provide scripts to make it easy. Just select one of the Actions below to get started.

Why is this so important?  Our phone calls fire up our Members of Congress, stiffen their spines, and push them to fight harder. We let them know that we're paying attention – and we have their back when they go out on a limb. Make sure to call your own U.S. Representative and both Senators – they are the ones who represent you!

STOP THE $20 BILLION BAILOUT OF ARGENTINA, CRONY CAPITALISM AT ITS WORST

Why would the US government use $20 billion in taxpayer funds to bail out Argentina, a right-wing government with a decades-long history of corruption and fiscal mismanagement, when it’s unwilling to use these funds to benefit the American people ? To protect Treasury Secretary Bessert’s billionaire hedge-fund buddies, of course. Congress must put an end to this crony capitalism scam now.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***  TELL THE ELECTION ASSISTANCE COMMISSION: NO DOCUMENTARY PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP [10-13-25]

On July 16, 2025, America First Legal, a right-wing extremist group founded by Stephen Miller, petitioned the Election Assistance Commission (EAC), tasked with ensuring free and fair elections, to amend the federal voter registration form to require Americans, when registering to vote, to provide a passport or similar documentary proof of citizenship.—which could disenfranchise many millions of voters.

Citizens have until October 20 to get their comments to the EAC. If we promptly send our comments and convince our friends and neighbors to do likewise, there’s still time to convince the EAC that carrying out its duty to ensure free and fair elections requires it to reject this anti-democratic petition and protect everyone’s right to vote.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***  THANK MEMBERS OF CONGRESS FOR WORKING TO MAKE OUR LIVES BETTER [9-30-25]

As constituents, it is our responsibility to push our elected officials to better protect our interests. And, when they work hard on our behalf, we should show our appreciation. Here, in Oregon, our MoCs are holding strong on two fronts—in standing up for our  healthcare needs, even if that means a government shutdown tonight, and in pushing back against Trump’s  illegal nationalization of the Oregon National Guard and its deployment to Portland with authorization to use “full force, if necessary.”

We must thank them for what they’re doing, tell them to continue fighting, and urge them to both daily paint pictures of Trump’s cruelty and authoritarianism and remind us who’s to blame for our ongoing suffering.

Don’t Let RFK Jr. Burn Down The CDC. Demand His Resignation!

RFK, Jr. intensified his personal war against science by cutting $500 million for mRNA vaccine research and cancelling a $600 million bird flu vaccine contract, alongside other CDC and HHS firings. American health organizations and lawmakers have called for Kennedy’s resignation en masse. Don’t let RFK Jr. destroy our healthcare. Call your reps to demand his resignation.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION*** IT’S TIME FOR COMMON SENSE GUN LEGISLATION [9-17-25]

Instead of a bell, gunfire is the mark of another school year in America. In Minneapolis, Catholic school students were shot while praying, several were injured, and the 23-year-old shooter then killed himself. Weeks later, conservative activist Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University while speaking at a political event. The same day, a student opened fire at a Colorado High School, injuring 2 students before turning the gun on himself.
Gun violence’s frightening heights is a reflection of our dark culture. Our leaders, willing only to offer “thoughts and prayers,” refuse to act. Implementing common-sense gun legislation is a simple first-step towards addressing this cancer. Rather than using these recent tragedies to attack Democrats and progressive organizations, let’s memorialize Charlie Kirk’s murder in legislation strengthening our national gun laws—creating a safer country for our kids.

THE UPCOMING CR MUST PROTECT OUR RIGHTS, HEALTHCARE, AND ESSENTIAL SERVICES

Americans across the country are rising up to defy Trump’s power-grab and intimidation tactics, and we expect the same of our Members of Congress. They must refuse to vote for—and do everything they can to block—funding for Trump’s unconstitutional power grabs, even if it means a government shutdown for which Trump and Republicans, who refuse to seek bipartisan solutions, will be blamed.

EPSTEIN’S VICTIMS DESERVE JUSTICE

The Khanna-Massie discharge petition needs just 2 more signatories to force a House vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act, also pending in the Senate. It is unconscionable Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell went unpunished for so long and their high-rolling enablers and clients are still being protected. Full disclosure of the DOJ’s file will help Congress craft legislation both to combat sex trafficking and to protect survivors.

“Unprecedented, Unwarranted, Unconstitutional, Un-American: OUR Cities Militarized by A Wanna-Be Dictator”

No one wants their neighborhood turned into a war zone by a “wanna- be dictator” using false alarms to justify military occupations aimed at punishing dissent, scoring political points, circumventing democracy, and eliminating elections. We need our media and political representatives to stay on message and stop falling for the bait. You must speak out against the authoritarian drift and keep your eyes on 2026.

END TRUMP’S UNLAWFUL TAKEOVER OF D.C.

In attempting a hostile takeover of our nation’s capital, Trump’s overridden local laws, deployed the National guard without DC’s consent, seized control of its police and immigration policies, flooded it with reassigned federal law enforcement, razed houseless encampments and imprisoned inhabitants, turned misdemeanors into federal felonies with long jail sentences, and terrorized the local population—an authoritarian power grab meant to demonstrate his power and normalize the future presence and unlawful use of the military in blue-state cities. Congress must stop him before it’s too late.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***DON’T ALLOW TRUMP TO MAKE PUTIN’S RUSSIA GREAT AGAIN [8-20-25]

At last Friday’s meeting in Alaska, Trump revealed himself as Putin’s fawning supplicant, rolling out the red carpet for this war criminal. On Monday, Zelensky, accompanied by the leaders of the EU, NATO, Germany, France, Britain, and Italy, tried, largely unsuccessfully, to get Trump to change his perspective.

Toward this end, our MoCs must immediately begin pressuring the Trump administration to: (1) support Ukraine with a ceasefire agreement that maintains Ukraine’s control over its territory, (2) continue to provide the necessary military and diplomatic assistance required to ensure Ukraine’s independence, and (3) respect Ukraine’s input and not bow to Putin’s agenda in any peace deal it brokers.

OUR CONGRESSPEOPLE MUST LEAD THE FIGHT TO PRESERVE DEMOCRACY

Unconstrained by the MAGA Congress and the SCOTUS supermajority, Trump’s illegal acts are destroying our core freedoms and our democracy and attempting to turn America into a fascist state. Millions of Americans, so far without the help of the majority of Democratic lawmakers, have taken to the streets to try to save our faltering democracy. The Democratic Caucuses in Congress cannot continue doing business as usual. Instead, they must become leaders of and participants in the emerging grassroots movement.

Today’s mRNA Pocket Rescission Will Be Tomorrow’s Death Count

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. cut $500 million in mRNA vaccine development this week, claiming falsely that mRNA vaccines don’t perform. The scientific community disputes Kennedy’s claim emphatically and warns his action will stifle our ability to respond quickly to both future pandemics and public health emergencies, thereby putting millions of lives at risk.

NO U.S. FUNDS FOR NETANYAHU’S GEN0CIDE IN GAZA

Israel is committing genocide in Gaza, and America is complicit. Since October 2023, the US has sent over $30 billion in weapons to the Israeli military which were used to kill at least 55,000 Palestinians and to starve and displace millions. Congress cannot continue ignoring the images and reports from Gaza which are more horrific every day.

Why call your Members of Congress

Members of Congress have told us repeatedly that our calls matter. When they meet with their colleagues in Congress, they say "I'm getting swamped with calls about this illegal power grab. We need to take action."

If you're represented by Democrats: They are our best defense in Washington DC. They can throw sand in the gears of the Trump regime by using tools such as parliamentary procedures. And they have the power to call attention to particular issues via press, social media, special events. In short: our elected officials have power, and we must push them to wield it.

If you're represented by Republicans: Our calls let them know just how unpopular their actions are. We make them nervous, even if they don't show it. We make it hard for them to take actions that hurt Americans.

Calling tips

  • State your name, your zip code or neighborhood, and why you're calling

  • Stick to one issue per call

  • Don't worry about getting pulled into a debate -- the staffer will simply document your message.

  • Be respectful. The person on the other end of the line is likely a staffer who handles numerous calls daily. Being polite makes your message more likely to be heard and taken seriously.

  • Use personal stories when possible. When you share how an issue affects you personally, or why it matters to you, your message is more likely to resonate and be remembered.
