Crises in the Halls of Congress Threaten Our Security and Democracy
QUICK READ: The chaos following the removal of Speaker McCarthy has taken attention away from corrupt members of Congress who must also go. The presence of Congressmen George Santos and Senators Menendez and Tuberville pose a serious threat to our democracy and national security.

BACKGROUND
Despite our commitment to protecting democracy abroad, at home House Republicans have brought our government to a standstill, creating a domestic threat to democracy.
For the first time ever, the majority’s bickering has left the House without a Speaker for three weeks—making the passage of critical legislation impossible and possibly causing a government shutdown in mid-November.
After dumping McCarthy, a deceitful Trump sycophant, their first candidate was Steve Scalise, who had ties to KKK leader David Duke. Then, Trump and his MAGA supporters tried to force selection of election denier Jim Jordan, who’d never authored any legislation. Of the 8 candidates now running, only 2 certified Biden’s election.
Sadly, Congress has more corrupt members:
--Republican Representative George Santos stands indicted on 23 counts alleging fraud, stealing money from elderly people, and using campaign donations for personal expenses.
--Democratic Senator Robert Menendez, despite being indicted for acting as an agent of Egypt, while chairing the powerful Senate Foreign Relation Committee, rejects calls for his resignation.
--And across the aisle, Senator Tommy Tuberville, incensed with the Defense Department’s abortion policies, has blocked the military promotion of 260 senior officers—seriously hurting military readiness and our national security.
Congress must clean house now, showing Americans and the world that it knows how to govern.
