FRIDAY RECAP: Oct. 8, 2021

KEEP CALLING

Today’s the day to catch up on our calls. No matter how many calls you made this week, commit to calling one more time. Indivisible Oregon’s Daily Actions captured the most important debates, analyzed them, urged readers to action.

The destruction of the global economy was postponed this week. Senate Republicans agreed to move the deadline for raising the debt limit from Oct. 18 to Dec. 3. Meanwhile, the Build Back Better bill — which would provide a range of needed social benefits and climate actions — is still in limbo as Dems wrangle over something but it’s not exactly clear what opponents want. And Trump holdovers in high government offices, like the IRS and the Post Office, continue his war on democracy.

All this and more were first alerted and analyzed in this week’s Daily Actions (see links below). Stay ahead if the news and be fully informed with Indivisible Oregon’s Daily Actions.

It may seem as if we saved America by electing Biden but all the trends point to the GOP’s more effective, but less obvious, war on democracy.

  • If you’re really dedicated, use the other scripts to call this weekend

Here are the great topics from which to choose:

It takes us calling multiple times, so pick up your phone right now, click on your chosen link, and do your part to transform our country so it works for everyone. And, please tell your Senator to end the filibuster and pass the Freedom to Vote Act.
