VOTE ON A RELIEF BILL NOT A CONFIRMATION

Background

Instead of ramming through a far-right Supreme Court nominee who says separating children at the border is only a political issue and climate change is “contentious” the Senate should be passing a COVID bill and bailing out working people, small businesses and state and local governments.

Instead of ramming through a nominee who will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Senate should be passing a COVID bill that funds health care for COVID victims, contact tracing, nationwide testing, and PPE.

•1.5 million state and local employees have lost their jobs, with many more to come if Congress does not provide aid.

•Small businesses are dying by the thousands.

•We can’t stop virus outbreaks because we don’t have enough contact tracing or testing.

The economy is sliding from temporary crisis into long-term damage while the Senate Republicans block spending that is so obviously needed. Instead they are spending precious time creating a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court rather than save lives.

Voters are turning out in record numbers. We need to help along the next blue wave (see Action #3). And we need to keep pushing Congress to fight for us.
