***IMMEDIATE ACTION***SHOW VOTERS senate DEMOCRATS HAVE THEIR BACKS [2026-09-28]
The Senate will likely recess on Wednesday, making this its last chance to affect the upcoming elections.
Republicans, who’ve ignored the affordability crisis and actually made our lives more difficult—with their massive cuts to social programs on which millions rely and their refusal to stop Trump’s illegal tariffs and wars which dramatically raised the cost of living—are desperately looking for successes to sell to the electorate.
Bearing this in mind, the Senate Majority Leader’s keying up votes on:
Overhauling the college sports industry (Protect College Sports Act), which strips the rights of student athletes while protecting the NCAA and its coaches;
Ratepayer Protection Act, which calls for data centers to voluntarily cover their costs;
Restricting Congressional stock trading, which only bans future purchases, rather than requiring divestiture or blind trusts; excludes the executive branch and financial industry family members; and contains the voter ID provisions of the SAVE America Act;
A roll back of California’s stricter limits for vehicle emissions.
For Democrats—promising voters they’ll make life more affordable and also expose Trump’s and his cronies” massive corruption and hold wrongdoers responsible—how they vote on these bills also matters:
Supporting #1 would alienate the black community, a key demographic in their voter base;
not requiring data center cover their costs hurts everyone;
this weak bill doesn’t include the corrupt Executive branch and contains unsupportable voter suppression provisions;
Worsening the climate crisis negatively impacts us all.
Please do everything you can to convince your colleagues to stop these bills--demonstrating Democrats mean what they say and will work to improve voters’ lives in the next Congress and beyond.
