Oregon Voters Deserve to Know Why
This November, Oregon families face a choice that could not be more important. With costs rising and household budgets stretched thin, voters deserve leaders who will fight to make life more affordable, protect health care, and defend every Oregonian’s right to be heard.
Yet Christine Drazan’s record tells a different story.
More than a year after Donald Trump’s so-called “Big Ugly Bill” was signed into law, Oregon is facing devastating health care cuts, including an estimated $4.7 billion reduction in federal Medicaid funding over the next five years. The consequences are real: nearly one in three Oregonians and more than half of Oregon’s children rely on the Oregon Health Plan for care.
For working families, this is not politics. It is the difference between getting a prescription filled, taking a child to the doctor, or paying the bills at the end of the month.
Despite the threat these cuts pose to Oregon families, Christine Drazan has refused to speak out against them. Instead, her record shows a pattern of opposing efforts to expand access to care and lower health costs:
She voted against funding for the Oregon Health Plan.
She opposed expanding Medicaid access to more people in Oregon.
She opposed legislation to even explore the possibility of universal health care in Oregon.
She voted no on the creation of the Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which reviews and reports on price increases in prescription drugs.
At a time when families are worried about higher costs and losing access to care, Oregon voters deserve an answer:
Why won’t Christine Drazan stand up to Donald Trump’s health care cuts when they threaten coverage for as many as 200,000 Oregonians?
Her silence speaks volumes. When powerful interests in Washington put Oregon families at risk, we need leaders who will fight back, not fall in line. We need leaders who will protect affordable health care, defend our vote-by-mail system, and put Oregon families first.
This November, the stakes are personal. For our families. For our health care. For our future.
Make your voice heard. Vote. Vote for those Leaders won't just fall in line but for those who will Fight.
