Mass Call: Healthcare Not Warfare

Mass Call: Healthcare Not Warfare

We need to act fast to ensure that Trump doesn’t run Venezuela

Join our emergency organizing call to find ways to mobilize to stop more endless war. Congress can act this week to end Trump’s warmongering in Venezuela—and may vote as early as Thursday.

RSVP now to join thousands of fellow activists and progressive leaders, including Senator Tim Kaine, Representative Ilhan Omar, and Representative Greg Casar, to share our opposition to Trump’s actions and learn about opportunities for timely, meaningful impact. We need fast, visible responses, directed at members of Congress, to prevent Trump from further dangerous military actions against other countries, and to get our focus back on running our own country.

Trump and Republicans are sending the cost of our health care soaring. Prices are going up, and the only ones doing well in this economy are Trump’s billionaire cronies. We won’t let him distract from this affordability crisis and his poor poll numbers with a potentially illegal, dangerous, corrupt war. Join us Wednesday night to find immediate actions you can take.

This event is being hosted by MoveOn, Working Families Power, Indivisible, Public Citizen, People's Action, and Win Without War.

Ground Truth: New Volunteer Orientation

Ground Truth: New Volunteer Orientation

Get involved with Ground Truth—Swing Left’s innovative, people-powered program that’s helping Democrats win back power by reimagining how we talk with voters. In this 30-minute orientation, you'll learn how to make an impact from anywhere, no matter your schedule or preferred type of action. Whether you want to knock doors, call voters, help recruit volunteers, or more, we need all hands on deck.

Why Ground Truth? The 2026 midterms are our next big chance to unseat Republicans and reverse the creep of authoritarian politics. Flipping the House is step one in checking this administration's agenda and building toward a full-fledged Democratic trifecta in 2028. But we can't keep talking to the same voters in the same way and expect a different result. With Ground Truth, we will:

  • Go big by talking to all swing district voters, not just likely Dems, because traditional voter contact too often misses persuadable voters.

  • Listen deeply to voters’ real-world concerns, including specific challenges faced in their communities, starting earlier than ever.

  • Using brand-new technology, directly share on-the-ground insights and rich data to strengthen the most competitive Democratic House campaigns.

Whether you're new to Swing Left or you've been with us from the beginning, this orientation is a great place to learn how to join the Ground Truth team!

Paid for by Swing Left, Swingleft.org, not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

Protest at the Apple Store - Bring Back ICEBlock!

PROTEST APPLE’S CENSORSHIP

DEFEND COMMUNITY SAFETY & DEMAND THE RETURN OF THE ICEBlock APP with a holiday themed, musical protest

When Trump’s cruel mass deportations ramped up, communities created tools to protect themselves — apps that shared real-time alerts of ICE operations. ICEBlock is an app that warns neighbors of ICE sightings in real-time. Apps like ICEBlock save lives and help keep families safe.

But Trump's personal Attorney General, Pam Bondi, demanded Apple remove ICEBlock, claiming it “put ICE agents at risk,” which is a lie.

Instead of defending community safety and free speech, Apple immediately complied — and took down other similar apps

This is corporate censorship in service of authoritarian power.

CEO Tim Cook has cozied up to Trump for years

  • donating $1 million to his inauguration

  • helping fund his White House ballroom and destroy the East Wing

  • turning his back on the communities Apple claims to support

✊ JOIN US PROTEST APPLE’S COMPLICITY — PROTECT OUR COMMUNITIES — DEMAND APPLE RESTORE ICEBlock with Santa costumes, reworked xmas songs, and candy canes.

Demonstrate that holidays are about keeping each other safe, not bowing to a wannabe-king. We are demanding that Apple reinstate the ICEBlock app — and we’re doing it with a joyful holiday twist!

Imagine: singing re-worked Christmas carols, handing out candy canes, and holding protest signs like “Tim Cook is on Santa’s Naughty List” and “This holiday, give oranges — not Apples.”

Bring your signs, friends, your holiday spirit and your voice. Let's show everyone that Santa and his friends fight fascism and don't support corporation who bow down to authoritarian regimes!

Printed lyrics will be sent to registrants and available at the event.

See videos of songs being rehearsed here.

Practical Information

  • The protest will be held on a wide sidewalk in front the store where we can stand and show our signs, sing our songs, show our holiday spirit while telling passersby to NOT support Apple and their corrupt agenda and collaboration with a fascist regime this holiday season.

  • Recommend coming by public transit, the protest is along the MAX lines

  • If driving, there is a paid parking lot across the street

  • Come in your holiday costumes, hats and ugly sweaters!

  • Santa costumes will be available

  • Dress warm and for the weather. It is December. It is Portland.

  • Reminder that this is a peaceful protest intending to point of the corruption and bootlicking at Apple while embracing the Portland energy we are known and loved for.

Indivisible Oregon is deeply committed to nonviolence as both a principle and a strategy. We strongly believe that peaceful, nonviolent activism offers social movements the most power to effect change. We will only protest on public property and will not enter any private property space

AG Dan Rayfield's "Oregon Priorities Tour" Town Hall
Dec

AG Dan Rayfield's "Oregon Priorities Tour" Town Hall

SW Portland Town Hall with Senate President Rob Wagner.

The Oregon Priorities town halls will feature Attorney General Rayfield alongside key state and national leaders at each location, creating opportunities for direct engagement with communities across Oregon.

Community members will be invited to share the priorities that matter most – keeping communities safe, protecting working families, consumers, and seniors, defending Oregon’s values, and more – so Oregon DOJ can shape legal strategies that best protect the state’s interests.

“Keeping Oregon safe, fair, and forward-looking means listening to Oregonians in every corner of the state,” said Attorney General Rayfield. “That’s our goal with the Oregon Priorities Tour – especially as the federal government steps back or tries to dismantle the very agencies meant to protect people. States like ours have to pick up the slack. We are hearing from people who know our communities best and turning those conversations into action.”

ASL and Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Canvassing with Empathy Training
Dec

Canvassing with Empathy Training

CANVASSING WITH EMPATHY (A.K.A. Deep Canvassing) is a method of voter outreach that involves having authentic, empathic conversations with individuals about how they want government to serve them. Unlike traditional canvassing (which uses a script designed to persuade constituents to support a candidate or cause), CANVASSING WITH EMPATHY fosters a more in-depth and genuine way of connecting with voters to discuss the importance of electing leaders who represent one’s values and interests.

The purpose is to build sincere relationships with voters by actively listening to their beliefs and experiences and by sharing personal stories to foster common ground, empathy, and mutual respect.

SWING LEFT and INDIVISIBLE groups are partnering to conduct multiple trainings and canvassing efforts in key swing districts across the U.S., including Oregon’s critical 5th congressional district. The goal is to repair what’s broken in Democratic organizing by rebuilding trust and restoring faith in our electoral process. We want to hear from voters about their top concerns, and we want to make sure that candidates running for election address those concerns directly!

This is a 2-hour ZOOM event that includes role playing and examples of how to canvass. A zoom link will be sent ONE WEEK before the training to everyone who signed up.

Inside Ground Truth: How We Win in 2026 and Beyond

Trump and MAGA aren’t invincible. Together, we can stop their assault on our democracy, our neighbors, and our future. You’ve stood up this year—from protesting en masse to driving huge Democratic wins at the ballot box. The 2026 midterms are our next big chance to unseat Republicans, win back power at the federal level, and reverse the creep of authoritarian politics.

Flipping the House is step one in checking this administration's agenda and building toward a full-fledged Democratic trifecta in 2028. Join this virtual strategy session with Swing Left to hear our plan to win and how you can join the fight.

We’ll cover:

  • The Path to a Majority: The swing districts we're targeting to flip the House and break Republican control in Washington.

  • Deep Dive on "Ground Truth:" Swing Left's innovative new program that’s changing how we talk with voters, including those left out of traditional outreach. We're using a new canvassing app to start early, knock on every door, and listen deeply to understand what voters truly care about. Then, we’re analyzing and sharing valuable insights campaigns can actually use to build trust, win votes, and defeat their GOP opponents.

If you're ready to continue the smart, strategic work we need to win, this call is for you. RSVP to be part of a growing community of hope-filled action takers ready to win elections in 2026 and beyond.

Deep Canvassing in District 5
Dec

Deep Canvassing in District 5

Join other Indivisible Oregon volunteers to knock doors in Congressional District 5 -- a swing district -- to restore our democracy.

We will use a "deep canvassing" approach where we will listen for concerns and aim to understand experiences rather than persuade. We will knock on every door so that we connect with all potential allies.

The goals are to gather good information about the issues concerning people in District 5 to share with campaigns committed to defeating authoritarianism, to connect people wanting to get involved with advocacy opportunities, and to connect people experiencing material needs with resources.

We will not use a phone app! Instead, we will record information on paper and will carry clipboards. (A suitable app from Swing Left isn't available at this time).

For people new to this type of canvassing, we'll provide a brief training. For people with experience, you can head out to the doors with your turf map. We encourage people to canvass in pairs.

If you’ve not done this before, don't worry. We’ll cover everything you need to know. Once you get going, you'll find that talking to voters is very rewarding.
