Volunteer Orientation - Let's Get Ready for the Midterms!
Come Show Your Democracy on Valentine's Day. 💘
We all know this election year is not going to be normal.
At Indivisible Oregon, we are gearing up. This moment calls for new, creative and effective ways to reach voters. And to do this, it will take volunteers to help organize and run events. If you have ever wanted to volunteer but didn’t know where to start, this is the event for you.
We are creating a meeting specifically for anyone interested in working on a canvas, a phone call, a letter writing or a protest event, or social media content creation.
YOU are the volunteers we need now. Whether you want to dip your toe in or want to help lead an event, this Volunteer Orientation is for you.
Our volunteer orientation will give you the opportunity to meet and collaborate with other Indivisible Oregon volunteers like yourself. We will have break-out groups focusing on: deep canvassing, deep phone calls, letter writing, visible protesting, administration, and social media content creation.
Join us to build grassroots power for all the fights to come. Together, we can defeat the anti-democratic MAGA movement, dismantle the GOP's advantage in key swing races, and maintain and expand Democratic power at the federal level.

Canvassing With Empathy - Zoom Training
CANVASSING WITH EMPATHY (A.K.A. Deep Canvassing) is a method of voter outreach that involves having authentic, empathetic conversations with individuals about how they want government to serve them. Unlike traditional canvassing (which uses a script designed to persuade constituents to support a candidate or cause), CANVASSING WITH EMPATHY fosters a more in-depth and genuine way of connecting with voters to discuss the importance of electing leaders who represent one’s values and interests.
The purpose is to build sincere relationships with voters by actively listening to their beliefs and experiences and by sharing personal stories to foster common ground, empathy, and mutual respect.
SWING LEFT and INDIVISIBLE groups are partnering to conduct multiple trainings and canvassing efforts in key swing districts across the U.S., including Oregon’s critical 5th congressional district. The goal is to repair what’s broken in Democratic organizing by rebuilding trust and restoring faith in our electoral process. We want to hear from voters bout their top concerns, and we want to make sure that candidates running for election address those concerns directly!
This is a 2-hour ZOOM event that includes role playing and examples of how to canvass. Whether you are an experienced canvasser or have never canvassed before - this training is designed to give anyone the tools to have meaningful conversations with voters that are satisfying and even fun!
A zoom link will be sent ONE WEEK before the training to everyone who signed up.

Ground Truth: New Volunteer Orientation
Get involved with Ground Truth—Swing Left’s innovative, people-powered program that’s helping Democrats win back power by reimagining how we talk with voters. In this 30-minute orientation, you'll learn how to make an impact from anywhere, no matter your schedule or preferred type of action. Whether you want to knock doors, call voters, help recruit volunteers, or more, we need all hands on deck.
Why Ground Truth? The 2026 midterms are our next big chance to unseat Republicans and reverse the creep of authoritarian politics. Flipping the House is step one in checking this administration's agenda and building toward a full-fledged Democratic trifecta in 2028. But we can't keep talking to the same voters in the same way and expect a different result. With Ground Truth, we will:
Go big by talking to all swing district voters, not just likely Dems, because traditional voter contact too often misses persuadable voters.
Listen deeply to voters’ real-world concerns, including specific challenges faced in their communities, starting earlier than ever.
Using brand-new technology, directly share on-the-ground insights and rich data to strengthen the most competitive Democratic House campaigns.
Whether you're new to Swing Left or you've been with us from the beginning, this orientation is a great place to learn how to join the Ground Truth team!
Paid for by Swing Left, Swingleft.org, not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee.

What's the Plan? Indivisible National Call
The chaos out of the White House is meant to overwhelm us. Our antidote is community. Join Indivisible co-founders Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin every Thursday to break down the week’s biggest political stories, answer your questions, and map out strategies for taking action.
This is people-powered politics in real time. Questions can be submitted via the Q&A function during the live event.
Real talk. Real people. Real action. That's the plan.

Sen. Ron Wyden's Lane County Town Hall
Wyden has held 1,138 open-to-all town halls in keeping his promise to hold at least one town hall each year in each of Oregon’s 36 counties.
“A new year means new opportunities for all Oregonians to share opinions, ask questions and discuss ideas in open-to-all town halls in community gatherings with their neighbors,” Wyden said. “These face-to-face meetings are always important, and I look forward to these town halls at the start of 2026 to hear Oregonians’ thoughts on priorities for the year ahead in rural, suburban and urban parts of our state.”
For everyone’s security, backpacks and large bags will not be allowed in the town halls.
ICE OUT For Good Phone Bank
Masked federal agents are terrorizing our communities. They're teargassing babies, kidnapping our neighbors, shooting clergy in the face with chemical projectiles, and killing innocent people.
But right now, we have an opportunity to rein in ICE at the federal level. ICE and Border Patrol are part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which is currently funded only through January 30. The new funding bill that’s currently being written is our opportunity to put significant restrictions on ICE and ensure it doesn’t get a single penny more to enable its brutality.
Join us on Wednesday, January 21st, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST to call voters in key states and encourage them to call their senators to demand that they rein in ICE's terror tactics.
This event is presented by Indivisible Project.
