“Dear Democratic Party, Fascism Is Consolidating Power in Real Time. Act Now.”
QUICK READ: We wish the Democratic Party would stop asking for money while fascism consolidates power in real time under an authoritarian machine, with SCOTUS, the House, the Senate, and the executive branch under its control. We demand bold leadership, smart resistance, and a plan for restoration, and we have some distinct ideas for resistance and action.

BACKGROUND
A recent call to action making the rounds in the form of a letter falsely attributed to Liz Cheney began thusly:
“Dear Democratic Party,
You keep sending emails asking for $15, while we’re watching fascism consolidate power in real time.” The current administration has forged “a coordinated, authoritarian machine — with the Supreme Court, the House, the Senate, and the executive pen all under its control.”
While the two major American parties could not be further apart in critical and substantive ways, we agree with the author that our MOC’s should be taking 5-alarm-fire, news cycle-shifting, strategic action in the face of democratic collapse.
Some strategies follow:
Create civilian investigative coalitions of veterans, whistleblowers, journalists, and watchdogs to document and expose corruption, overreach, executive abuse, and disappearances.
Join the International Criminal Court and invite oversight of human rights abuses. Record who is “hiding bodies, bribes, and buried bank accounts.” Force transparency.
Fund state-level resistance infrastructure. Invest in legal defense teams, digital security training, sanctuary networks, and grassroots organizing to build power and protect vulnerable communities.
Educate the public and equip citizens with “know your rights” kits, digital security tools, and multilingual legal guides.
Engage global Media like The Guardian, BBC, and Al Jazeer rather than relying on U.S. cable news. Use emerging platforms like Bluesky, where censorship hasn’t taken hold.
Build encrypted, anonymous safe channels for dissenters and even MAGA defectors to speak out.
Study structural dismantling that targets figureheads as well as systems including aides, policy authors, and enablers, like we saw in South Korea.
