***IMMEDIATE ACTION***SENATE DEMOCRATS MUST CONTINUE FIERCELY FIGHTING FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE [7-31-25]

With little resistance, Trump’s forcing America down a cruel, corrupt, and authoritarian path—assisted by SCOTUS’ MAGA majority anointing him king and MAGA Congresspeople refusing to constrain him.

We’ve taken to the streets protesting Trump’s attempts to destroy democracy and impose authoritarian rule and demanding our elected officials use every opportunity to push back as well.

House Democrats have fought his agenda but been unable to crack the MAGA coalition. Senate Democrats have more tools at their disposal, which, until recently, they’ve not used effectively. Only federal district and appellate courts have successfully controlled Trump’s illegal and unconstitutional acts.

Senate Democrats have only recently awoken from their apathy and started fighting back against Trump’s disastrous agenda and lawless acts, routine usurpation of Congress’ powers, appointment of dangerously unqualified Cabinet officials, and complicity with DOGE’s slash-and-burn attacks on the federal bureaucracy and the privacy of federal records.

By slowing the confirmation process to a trickle—forcing Senate votes for even routine business and insisting on recorded votes for every nominee—Senate Democrats are sending a clear message to Trump and his Senate lackeys: “You’ve got a lawless president. Why should anyone aid and abet his lawless efforts?”

It is not clear, however, whether Democratic Senators will continue using these and the other time-consuming tools in their arsenal—quorum calls, objecting to unanimous consent, refusing to waive rules, putting more holds on nominees—if MAGA Senators threaten to shorten the August recess or change the Senate’s rules.

Please thank our Senators for their efforts on our behalf, while reminding them to remain strong, united, and committed to using all available weapons to (1) slow down Trump’s cruel and inhumane authoritarian agenda and (2) make clear to the American people how serious and destructive it really is.
