STOP TRUMP’S WAR ON OUR CITIES: NO DHS FUNDING WITHOUT REFORMS

QUICK READ:   The millions of Americans protesting daily across the country against Trump’s Gestapo’s occupation of our cities, with its accompanying brutality and indiscriminate violence against residents, demand that Congress, rather than silently allowing these abuses to continue, hear their pleas to end this war on their constituents by putting MAGA on notice they’ll only approve the budget if all additional funding for detention beds and ICE enforcement is removed and meaningful reforms to end militarized police practices added.

BACKGROUND

Since the murder of Renee Good by a trigger-happy ICE agent, people all across America are suffering from PTSD caused by repeated images of Trump’s Gestapo (the true domestic terrorists) rampaging through Minneapolis—beating up workers, ripping civilians from their cars, kidnapping people on the streets and near schools and churches, going door-to-door demanding proof of citizenship, profiling people based on their accents or looks, ignoring the Constitution with impunity, and repeatedly using excessive force with zero accountability or oversight.

Rather than deescalating, Trump sent more agents, whose lack of training and shoot-first-ask-no-questions-later mentality made Minneapolis’ streets look like 1930’s fascist Europe. ICE and Border Patrol agents feel empowered to fire at civilians exercising First Amendment rights—either with tear gas canisters or bullets—because they know the regime will keep whitewashing them while smearing and investigating their victims.

Trump’s ultimate goal: provoking Minneapolitans to provide visuals justifying invoking the Insurrection Act, pitting US servicemen against American citizens.

A government that cannot, or refuses to, protect the lives and rights of citizens and noncitizens alike, has lost its legitimacy, and Congress, by continuing to fund this war on their constituents, gravely betrays their oath of office.

The millions protesting in Minneapolis and across the country, exposing themselves to actual harm, want Democrats to use their limited power to stop this war. While almost 50% want ICE abolished, at a minimum, we’re demanding no additional funding for detention centers or enforcement, and meaningful reforms to end militarized police practices before Democrats approve DHS’2026 budget.

Americans will be watching how their MoC responds.

The millions protesting in Minneapolis and across the country, exposing themselves to actual harm, want Democrats to use their limited power to stop Trump’s war against Democratic cities and states. If Congress fails to act quickly, these raids will spread, more families will be traumatized, more lives will be put at risk, more people will suffer from PTSD, and a dangerous precedent will be locked in. While almost 50% want ICE abolished, at a minimum we’re demanding no additional funding for detention centers or enforcement, and meaningful reforms to end militarized police practices before Democrats approve DHS’ 2026 budget. These would include: · Demasking all agents, requiring them to wear identification and use body cameras for all activities; · Blocking funding for door-to-door raids, warrantless home entries, indiscriminate use of firearms, and racist advertising; · Requiring agents to follow normal police procedures in dealing with community members.
