***IMMEDIATE ACTION***NO FUNDING FOR DHS UNTIL ICE IS DISARMED AND DISMANTLED [1-26-26]
On May 12, 2025, DHS issued a secret ICE policy memo permitting agents to ignore the Fourth Amendment’s privacy protections. Since then, it’s been training recruits to forcibly enter people’s homes, ransack them, and terrify or arrest anyone they find there.
In July, MAGA Republicans enacted their reconciliation bill containing $71 billion to fund this unconstitutional ICE policy, of which they were ignorant.
What Americans have watched in horror unfolding in Washington DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, and most recently around Minneapolis is the direct result of these Blue cities’ occupation by untrained ICE and Border Patrol thugs sent not to deport “the worst of the worst” but to kidnap, terrorize and murder Americans and non-citizens with impunity, while stomping on our Constitution.
Americans, horrified by what they’ve seen, demand that Congress stop this carnage. The day after the memo’s publication, seven spineless Democrats from outside Oregon helped MAGA Republicans advance the legislation funding ICE with no restrictions on its behavior. Had they voted “no”, it wouldn’t have passed.
The fight now moves to the Senate, where many Democrats plan to demand guardrails and better training. These band-aids, however, will not fix the problems or stop fascism, since an agency kidnapping children, killing civilians, ignoring constitutional limits and First Amendment rights cannot become humane through reform. The only way to get these untrained, uncontrolled, non-transparent thugs out of our cities for good is by dismantling Trump’s Gestapo and starting over.
Please thank your Democratic representative for voting against this legislation, while chastising your MAGA representative for choosing murderous goons over his constituents. Between now and January 31 we must also call our Senators daily, reminding them that restoring America’s tranquility requires dismantling Trump’s Gestapo for good.
