PROTECT EQUAL ACCESS TO THE BALLOT BOX: VOTE “NO” ON VOTER SUPPRESSION
QUICK READ: Because Trump and his MAGA puppets know their policies are deeply unpopular, they’re trying to steal the 2026 election by requiring Americans to prove their citizenship before being allowed to register or to vote—disenfranchising 21+ million eligible voters. BACKGROUND
Because Donald Trump’s deeply underwater with the American people who oppose his policies by wide margins, he and his MAGA puppets can only win by cheating. Their three-part strategy entails mid-decade redistricting, ICE intimidation in Democratic and Democratic-leaning districts, and massive voter suppression.
Last spring the House, with 4 Democrats (Case [HI], Cuellar [TX], Golden[ME], Glusenkamp Perez [WA] ), narrowly passed the SAVE Act (SAVE 1.0), requiring Americans to produce a passport or birth certificate in-person to register or update their registration, which would have disenfranchised the 21+ million voters lacking ready access to them. It died in the Senate due to Democrats’ opposition.
At Trump’s insistence, it’s been resurrected—more virulently:
The SAVE America Act (HR.7296), while largely repeating SAVE 1.0’s methods of voter suppression, now requires both proof of citizenship to register and a photo ID to vote.
The MEGA Act is even worse—requiring , among other things, proof of citizenship to register, a national photo ID to vote, voter purges every 3 months, no rank-choice voting or universal vote-by-mail, election-day receipt of mail ballots, only paper ballots, post-election audits.
The SAVE America Act may come up for a House vote as early as Wednesday. Given that Johnson can only lose one member, if Jeffries demands and gets Democratic unity—which shouldn’t be hard, given Trump’s telegraphed intention to steal the 2026 elections—it and the MEGA Act might actually fail. Otherwise, it will fall on Senate Democrats to kill them once again.
