The recently introduced Judiciary Act of 2021 expands the Supreme Court from 9 to 13 members--one for each federal circuit--which is how it was originally constituted. It also eliminates the ultra-conservative, illegitimately achieved supermajority. We must do everything in our power to get this legislation passed.

Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act. Together we will make the promise of democracy real for us all.
FOR AMERICA TO THRIVE IMMEDIATE FILIBUSTER REFORM IS IMPERATIVE
The For the People Act will invalidate all voter suppression bills introduced in 47 states and prevent GOP gerrymandering when census results are released in August. Neither it nor any other progressive legislation will become law, however, unless the Senate reforms the filibuster--and that will only occur when wavering Senators realize that the GOP is filibustering everything and that failure to act will cause our democracy to wither and die.
Pass a Bold Infrastructure Plan & the For the People Act
Biden’s jobs-and-infrastructure plan is a good start, but averting the climate crisis needs a greater investment. And passing infrastructure may slow down S1 so much that the anti-gerrymandering provisions will be too late for ‘22. Now is the time for making your voice heard. Ask the Senate to pass the For the People Act asap, then follow with a robust jobs and infrastructure bill.
Why call your Members of Congress
Members of Congress have told us repeatedly that our calls matter. When they meet with their colleagues in Congress, they say "I'm getting swamped with calls about this illegal power grab. We need to take action."
If you're represented by Democrats: They are our best defense in Washington DC. They can throw sand in the gears of the Trump regime by using tools such as parliamentary procedures. And they have the power to call attention to particular issues via press, social media, special events. In short: our elected officials have power, and we must push them to wield it.
If you're represented by Republicans: Our calls let them know just how unpopular their actions are. We make them nervous, even if they don't show it. We make it hard for them to take actions that hurt Americans.
Calling tips
State your name, your zip code or neighborhood, and why you're calling
Stick to one issue per call
Don't worry about getting pulled into a debate -- the staffer will simply document your message.
Be respectful. The person on the other end of the line is likely a staffer who handles numerous calls daily. Being polite makes your message more likely to be heard and taken seriously.
Use personal stories when possible. When you share how an issue affects you personally, or why it matters to you, your message is more likely to resonate and be remembered.
