***IMMEDIATE ACTION*** THANK SENATOR MERKLEY FOR PROTESTING AGAINST THE DANGERS OF TRUMP’S AUTHORITARIANISM [10-26-25]
Last Tuesday Senator Merkley, took to the Senate floor, and, for nearly 23 hours, protested Trump’s grave threats to democracy—highlighting Trump’s “authoritarian takeover” of the government, attacks on free speech and the press, DOJ weaponization, National Guard deployments in our cities.
Let’s call and thank Senator Merkley for using this procedure to draw national attention to this “authoritarian moment” in which America finds itself, where Trump believes he is the king and can control everything, regardless of what the Constitution and our laws require.
At the same time, we must ask all of our MoCs to dramatically demonstrate for national consumption and also for their constituents, how Trump and his MAGA lackeys in Congress are destroying our democracy and our safety net and how their goals for our future, by contrast, are what Americans want and need.
