***IMMEDIATE ACTION*** STOP TRUMP’S CORRUPT ATTEMPT TO STEAL $230 MILLION FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE [10-27-25]
Since coming to power, Trump’s used the presidency to line his pockets—settlements from Meta, Google, Paramount, Disney, and X ($90.5 million), merchandise sales ($27.7 million), crypto token trading ($5 billion).
Trump’s claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) that DOJ owes him $230 million for violating his rights while investigating his 2016 campaign’s ties to Russia and prosecuting him for his theft of classified documents, is just his latest attempt to enrich himself—this time with taxpayer funds.
There are many reasons to deny Trump’s outrageous claims:
The Constitution’s Domestic Emoluments Clause prohibits the president from receiving any government payment, other than his salary;
The FTCA allows monetary damages only for “personal injury, property damage, or death” stemming from employees’ negligence, but, because he suffered none of these harms and there was no negligence, he’s not entitled to damages;
Because the two DOJ employees empowered to approve Trump’s claims—Todd Blanche, his personal attorney, and Stanley Woodward, his co-defendant’s lawyer in the Mara-Lago case and also Kash Patel’s—have monumental conflicts of interest and are precluded by federal statute from being involved, their approval would be illegal.
Our MoCs must not let Trump get away with his shocking attempt to use his subservient DOJ to shake down the American people by raiding the US Treasury for his own benefit—especially when his policies are causing millions of Americans to lose their health insurance and many more to struggle to make ends meet.
Instead, they must demand immediate, ongoing House and Senate investigations and commit to relentlessly shame him and his MAGA allies for trying to extort money from US taxpayers with bogus reimbursement claims.
ACTION One: Call the Senate and the House.
