***IMMEDIATE ACTION***TO PREVENT THE LOOMING MAGA-CREATED HEALTHCARE CRISIS, CONGRESS MUST EXTEND THE ACA TAX CREDITS [12-11-25]

The ACA tax credits enacted during Covid will lapse on December 31, creating a massive healthcare crisis.

The MAGA Murder Bill gutted much of America’s safety net for both citizens and many immigrant groups—SNAP, Medicaid, and Medicare—and refused to extend the credits on which over 90% of the 24 million enrolled in ACA plans rely.

Unless extended—which the vast majority in both parties support—out-of-pocket premium costs will jump, on average, by 114%. Much bigger price spikes will hit middle-income families, small-business owners, and people ages 50-65.

For the many unable to pay these premiums because they’re already suffering to make ends meet, the consequences will be immediate and devastating:

  • Cancer patients cut off from chemotherapy;

  • Seniors forced to ration their insulin;

  • Children denied the care they need to stay healthy.

Democrats are proposing a 3-year clean extension of the ACA tax credits

Republicans, with no real plan other than destroying the ACA, seem to be coalescing around Health Savings Accounts people can use to buy high-deductible ACA plans that  provide little coverage.

While the Democratic plan is promised a Senate vote today once MAGA’s entry fails, it can only reach the House floor via a discharge petition which is still short 4 Republican signees.

At a time when affordability’s on everyone’s minds, we must demand that Congress stop this crisis before it hits. Democrats must remain united in continuing to fight for its sensible plan.

Whatever the outcome, Americans must be reminded daily between now and the mid-terms that, no matter Trump’s rhetoric, only Democrats will protect their interests.
