Keep Virginia Blue! Phone Bank with Indivisible Oregon

Let’s keep Virginia blue!

Join Indivisible Oregon’s Virtual Phonebank every Wednesday afternoon from 3-5pm PT.

Meet Our Candidate

Nadarius Clark

A community activist, organizer, and Delegate in the VA House, representing the 84th district. A Portsmouth native and Virginia Union University graduate, he was raised in a strong community of faith, and comes from a military family. In 2021, he made history as the youngest Dem and first African American elected to represent his district. As a leader in the VA House, he’s passed legislation to improve the lives of all of his constituents. From taking on the debt collection industry, to fighting for public school funding, Delegate Clark has, and always will, put the working families of Hampton Roads first.

Virginia is having a general election in 2025, and keeping the majority in the House of Delegates is crucial.

After flipping the Virginia House of Delegates in 2023 by only 975 votes, we must help protect the Democratic majority to continue safeguarding democracy, especially with the growing threats coming from the federal government. Keeping the Dem majority ensures that Virginia remains a firewall against right-wing extremism and a leader in expanding economic opportunity, protecting freedoms, and defending democracy. A strong performance in Virginia this year will not only protect and expand the rights of Virginians, but also generate national momentum, inspiring Democratic successes in the 2026 midterms.

Why this race:

Democrats hold the majority in the Virginia House of Delegates by a single seat—and this seat is critical to maintaining their power. Lily Franklin is running again in 2025 after narrowly losing the 2023 election for Virginia’s 41st House District by just 183 votes. Flipping this seat is crucial for Democrats to strengthen their majority in the House of Delegates and continue advancing progressive policies in Virginia.

Why phonebank:

The data proves it: phonebanking is THE BEST volunteering option for remote voter contact. We identify supporters and let them know why their vote matters, speak with undecided voters, and recruit local volunteers. We also help improve our candidate’s data!

Come one, come all:

No experience necessary. Each Zoom phonebank includes training and check-ins for first-timers (experienced callers can jump right in). Our veteran phonebank leaders will help you get comfortable, increase your effectiveness, and make sure you have a great experience.

Deep Canvassing Training - Canvassing with Empathy

  • St. Luke Lutheran Church - Upper Floor Narthex Area (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

INDIVISIBLE OREGON and INDIVISIBLE CEDAR MILL are partnering with SWING LEFT to conduct comprehensive and experiential trainings in “Deep Canvassing” or “Canvassing with Empathy”. The training will be followed by an actual canvass with voters in Oregon’s Congressional District 5. Our goal is to encourage voters to tell us what issues are most important to them. This information is critical in helping Members of Congress better understand their constituents’ most important concerns as they are making policy decisions in Washington D.C. Additionally, this data will help 2026 electoral candidates in swing districts shape campaign messages that address voters in more meaningful and effective ways.

Deep canvassing is a method of voter outreach that involves having authentic, empathic conversations with individuals about how they want government to serve them. Unlike traditional canvassing, which uses a script designed to persuade voters to support a candidate or cause, deep canvassing fosters a more in-depth and genuine way of connecting with voters. The ultimate goal is to build a sincere relationship with voters by nonjudgmentally understanding their values, beliefs, and experiences rather than just gathering data through short conversations.

Participants will also learn about new approaches to canvassing developed by Swing Left, called "Ground Truth".

This is a 2-hour training, followed by one hour of canvassing. An additional hour is allowed for downloading “turfs”, explaining the “MiniVAN” app, driving to the canvassing locations and then returning to debrief. Afterward, trainees will be able to canvass on their own, or with a buddy, as often as they choose. Canvassing events will be scheduled regularly throughout June – November, 2025.

We Say NO KINGS!

We Say NO KINGS!

  • Waterfront Park Battleship Oregon Memorial (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. And here in Oregon, we say No Military Takeover of Our Communities.

Hosted by 50501 and Indivisible groups from all over the Portland Metro

Joyful Warriors – It’s Time to Mobilize! Defend democracy! Stop Tyranny in its tracks! End the Abuse of Power! Organize for the future we demand!

Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger and stronger. “NO KINGS” is more than just a slogan—it’s the foundation our nation was built upon. Born in the streets, carried by millions in chants and on posters, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.

Come together from every corner of the Metro as One Nation Indivisible at Waterfront Park. Add your voice to protect our Rights and our Freedoms

We are democracy’s defenders. We are The People! We are everywhere! We come together from every direction, across the bridges and down the streets – With music, marching, flags, songs and chants.

March In - 11am

Bring your friends, your co-workers, your community. Wear your team colors, carry your signs and represent your cause. From Pioneer Courthouse Square (SW), Convention Ctr Plaza (NE) and (SE) over Hawthorne Bridge. ALL GRAND ENTRY MARCHES WILL STEP OFF AT 11 AM.

Gather - 12pm

By Noon gather at Waterfront Park to rise up with Music and Inspiring Speakers. Artists, Puppeteers, dinosaurs and unicorns welcome! Visit tables and booths of many allied groups and organizations - learn ways you can stay involved and resist the regime.

Grand March - 1pm

We proclaim No Kings! Shoulder to Shoulder, In Solidarity. Our One Nation Indivisible Grand March will step off onto the Downtown Portland route at 1pm.

All of us in 50501 and Indivisible are committed to non-violence as a guiding principle in everything we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Non-violence doesn’t mean backing down. It means standing firm in our values, channeling our anger and our hope into action, and refusing to become what we’re fighting against. We are up against a movement that feeds on fear and chaos. Our answer is a movement grounded in courage, solidarity, and the unshakable belief that a better, more just democracy is worth fighting for—together.
