Fridays at 4—Letter Writing & More! is an online community of like-minded citizens who are committed to protecting our democracy and the rights and freedoms it provides to us. Each week we meet at 4:00 pm Pacific Time on Zoom and spend an hour and half together learning from noted speakers and sharing inspirational clips, both of which inspire lively discussions while we write letters and postcards to Democratic-leaning citizens to encourage them to vote in their next elections. Lily Franklin
A former high school math teacher and Chief of Staff for VA Delegate Sam Rasoul, Lily Franklin has long been a dedicated advocate for affordable housing, accessible childcare, and quality education. Help us elect Democratic challenger Lily Franklin to defend and expand our one seat majority in the Virginia House of Delegates!
Nadarius Clark
A community activist, organizer, and Delegate in the VA House, representing the 84th district. A Portsmouth native and Virginia Union University graduate, he was raised in a strong community of faith, and comes from a military family. In 2021, he made history as the youngest Dem and first African American elected to represent his district. As a leader in the VA House, he’s passed legislation to improve the lives of all of his constituents. From taking on the debt collection industry, to fighting for public school funding, Delegate Clark has, and always will, put the working families of Hampton Roads first.
Virginia is having a general election in 2025, and keeping the majority in the House of Delegates is crucial.
After flipping the Virginia House of Delegates in 2023 by only 975 votes, we must help protect the Democratic majority to continue safeguarding democracy, especially with the growing threats coming from the federal government. Keeping the Dem majority ensures that Virginia remains a firewall against right-wing extremism and a leader in expanding economic opportunity, protecting freedoms, and defending democracy. A strong performance in Virginia this year will not only protect and expand the rights of Virginians, but also generate national momentum, inspiring Democratic successes in the 2026 midterms.

Democrats hold the majority in the Virginia House of Delegates by a single seat—and this seat is critical to maintaining their power. Lily Franklin is running again in 2025 after narrowly losing the 2023 election for Virginia’s 41st House District by just 183 votes. Flipping this seat is crucial for Democrats to strengthen their majority in the House of Delegates and continue advancing progressive policies in Virginia.

Fridays at 4—Letter Writing & More! is an online community of like-minded citizens who are committed to protecting our democracy and the rights and freedoms it provides to us. Each week we meet at 4:00 pm Pacific Time on Zoom and spend an hour and half together learning from noted speakers and sharing inspirational clips, both of which inspire lively discussions while we write letters and postcards to Democratic-leaning citizens to encourage them to vote in their next elections. We can stop this. But it’ll take all of us — not just on single days of mass action, but through sustained organizing in our communities.
That’s why this summer, we’re launching One Million Rising — a national effort to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design. This is how we build people power that can’t be ignored. You’re invited to join us — and lead.

Session 1: The Moment & Your Mission - July 16 Get oriented to making meaning of this moment and the role you can play in coordinated strategic action.
Session 2: How to Make it Happen - July 30 This train-the-trainer session is how we get to one million. Learn not just our strategy, but how you can train others and get them on board. You'll host your first community resistance gathering after this session.
Session 3: What Now? - August 13 You'll be onboarded to basic campaign design and learn how to implement it locally as well as get plugged into our next national campaign work. Your second community resistance gathering will move this action forward.
