have a big impact

Make a two-minute phone call to your U.S. Representative and your U.S. Senators and urge them to take specific action on a timely issue. We provide scripts to make it easy. Just select one of the Actions below to get started.

Why is this so important?  Our phone calls fire up our Members of Congress, stiffen their spines, and push them to fight harder. We let them know that we're paying attention – and we have their back when they go out on a limb. Make sure to call your own U.S. Representative and both Senators – they are the ones who represent you!

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***”WE NEED THE JOHN R. LEWIS VOTING RIGHTS ADVANCEMENT ACT NOW MORE THAN EVER [8-3-25]

August 6 is the Voting Rights Act (VRA)’s 60th anniversary.  Despite its popularity, the Roberts Court has whittled away its protections. The result: a torrent of voter suppression schemes, systematically disenfranchising tens of thousands of American voters. And Trump’s baseless voter fraud claims, attempts to tighten voting restrictions, and requests for GOP-controlled states to engage in mid-decade gerrymandering have made things even worse.

On July 29, just 8 days before the VRA’s anniversary, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act was officially reintroduced in both chambers. Let’s thank our MoCs for their strong support for voting rights and our Senators for their press conference. But they cannot stop here. Instead, they must use this anniversary to get as much publicity as possible, while simultaneously exposing Trump and his MAGA allies for the authoritarians they are—working to destroy rather than strengthen our democracy.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***SENATE DEMOCRATS MUST CONTINUE FIERCELY FIGHTING FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE [7-31-25]

With little resistance, Trump’s forcing America down a cruel, corrupt, and authoritarian path—assisted by SCOTUS’ MAGA majority anointing him king and MAGA Congresspeople refusing to constrain him.

Senate Democrats have only recently awoken from their apathy and started fighting back. Let’s thank our Senators for their efforts, while reminding them to remain strong, united, and committed to using all available weapons to (1) slow down Trump’s cruel and inhumane authoritarian agenda and (2) make clear to the American public how serious and destructive it really is.

Are GPS-Ankle Monitors The New Jewish Star Armband?

ICE agents are coming after lawful immigrants living in our communities with GPS-enabled ankle monitors regardless of their compliance with immigration policies. The ultimate goal? Shackle upwards of 7 million immigrants with large, heavy devices with frequent glitches and poor battery life that bruise, marginalize, and “other” human beings.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***STOP EMIL BOVE’S APPELLATE COURT APPOINTMENT [7-28-25]  (Copy)

Trump corrupted SCOTUS, filled his administration with sycophants, and neutered Congress. Now he’s trying to appoint judges like Emil Bove—loyal not to the Constitution and the rule of law but only to him—who should be disbarred, not elevated to a lifetime Court of Appeals appointment as early as July 29.

As your constituent, I need you to do everything possible to keep Emil Bove off the bench. After thanking your Democratic colleagues and GOP Senators Collins and Murkowski for standing firm for the rule of law, demand the proceedings be paused to hear from the whistleblowers and delay the vote until angry constituents convince at least two additional GOP Senators to honor their oath by voting “no.”

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***”IMMEDIATE ACTION: STOP CORRUPTION: RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES  [7-21-25]

Why is Trump refusing to release the Epstein Files he promised the MAGA base he’d do if elected? Because they contain unflattering references about him or worse which he’s desperate to keep secret.

Don’t be fooled by Trump’s desperate attempt to lay the blame elsewhere---having A-G Bondi seek confidential grand jury testimony, which, even if released, wouldn’t contain information about the powerful people enabling Epstein’s crimes. What does contain this information is the FBI’s 100,000-document file the DOJ ordered 1,000 FBI employees to comb through and flag every mention of Trump.

By signing the circulation discharge petition our MoCs would be demanding accountability for everyone who helped Epstein, covered for him, or looked the other way. The file’s release will also help Sen. Wyden better track Epstein’s vast sex-trafficking network.

PROTECT US FROM TRUMP’S GESTAPO AND CONCENTRATION CAMPS

Unsettling parallels between Nazi Germany and Trump’s vision for America cannot be ignored. Trump is using ICE, America’s Gestapo, as his personal police force to detain and disappear brown-skinned, mostly law-abiding immigrants based solely on their physical appearance and is gleefully looking forward to them being abused and tortured in ICE’s unaccountable, privately run concentration camps, like Alligator Auschwitz.

MAKING “GOOD TROUBLE” ON THE STREETS AND IN CONGRESS

On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Americans all over the country will participate in the Good Trouble Lives On National Day of Action—responding to Trump’s attacks on our civil and human rights, by making “Good Trouble” carrying on John Lewis’ fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all. What better time for our Members of Congress to push 5 pieces of legislation protecting our ability to freely choose our leaders.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***”Alligator Auschwitz”and ICE’S OTHER CONCENTRATION CAMPS MUST BE SHUT DOWN [7-14-25]

The $170 billion for border and immigration enforcement in the MAGA Murder Bill funds the two major components of Trump’s fascist government—an American Gestapo filled with loyal goons, and the concentration camps spread across the country to which his enemies will be sent to be mistreated and tortured.

Members of Congress, state officials, civic groups, and media outlets must expose and amplify what’s going on in these camps and push back against this Nazi-like behavior. Congress must also investigate and expose the “play-to-pay” corruption of private prison companies American taxpayers are financing and get these concentration camps closed.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***THE TRAGIC EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL WILL GET WORSE [7-13-25]

On July 4th, catastrophic flooding caused central Texas’ Guadalupe River to rise 26+ feet in just 45 minutes, sweeping away people, including children at summer camps, homes and businesses. At least 120 died, and nearly 200 are still missing. Because of DOGE firings, there was no local meteorologist to pass on NWS flood warnings, and Kristi Noem’s micromanagement delayed FEMA’s response by three days.

Our Members of Congress must do much more than investigate how Trump’s, Musk’s, and Noem’s attacks on the NWS and FEMA hampered preparedness and response efforts. They must connect the dots repeatedly between GOP policy and its lethal consequences—the deaths and destruction across America caused by climate change—and hold Trump and Republicans accountable.

DEMOCRATS: KEEP FIGHTING TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS AND OUR CONTINUED PROSPERITY

On July 4, while Americans were celebrating our freedoms, Trump was touting the cruelest, most draconian and oppressive legislation in 150+ years which erases many of these freedoms and transforms our country into a police state. Democrats, united in the fight to protect these freedoms and America’s social safety net, lacked the votes to prevail. We must thank them for their fierce efforts on our behalf and urge them to remain united in the upcoming battle to tie every Republican incumbent to the bill’s monstrous human results.

“Dear Democratic Party, Fascism Is Consolidating Power in Real Time. Act Now.”

We wish the Democratic Party would stop asking for money while fascism consolidates power in real time under an authoritarian machine, with SCOTUS, the House, the Senate, and the executive branch under its control. We demand bold leadership, smart resistance, and a plan for restoration, and we have some distinct ideas for resistance and action.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***WE CAN STILL STOP THE MAGA MURDER BILL [6-30-25]

The extremely unpopular, Medicaid-slashing, billionaire-enriching version of the MAGA Murder Bill Senate Republicans hope to send back to the House is even worse than the House-passed version, willingly consigning many of their constituents to misery, hunger, and death to partially pay for the largest transfer of wealth in American history and blow up the national debt.

Both versions further transform the US into a police state. Cutting access to healthcare and food frees up $50 billion to finish Trump’s useless southern border wall, $8 billion to hire 10,000 masked ICE gestapo agents to daily round up 3000 immigrants and Americans, and $59 billion to build the concentration camps to hold and then deport them—further destroying our civil rights.

Voting may have already started in the Senate, but there’s still time to contact your Senators, thank them for all opposing the gutting of vital programs our families and communities rely on, and urge them to keep proposing amendments that highlight Republicans’ cruelty and trying to stop its passage however they can. Then call your Representative, who may shortly be voting on the Senate version, and pass along a similar message.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***STOP TRUMP’S WAR AGAINST IRAN NOW! [from Rogan’s List, 6-22-22]

I am horrified and infuriated that Donald Trump is dragging us into another Middle Eastern quagmire. The Constitution does not allow just one man to make this decision, and the Trump Administration cannot be trusted to make it.

Congress needs to do its job and check their power. As your constituent, I demand that you vote to stop these strikes and block further escalation of attacks on Iran. Do not rubber stamp this unnecessary, unpopular, half-baked war. Please publicly announce you will back the pending War Powers resolutions and support a diplomatic solution. I will be calling you every day to express my abhorrence at Trump’s behavior and remind you of the need for swift congressional action.

DON’T LET TRUMP BLUNDER US INTO WAR

Despite overwhelming popular opposition to becoming involved in another endless war in the Middle East, Netanyahu is trying to get Trump to do just that. Congress must reclaim its constitutional power to declare war and peace, preventing Trump from recklessly and flippantly blundering us into this disastrous, unauthorized Middle East war and, in the process, protecting our democracy from Trump’s ever expanding executive overreach.

DEFEAT TRUMP’S FASCIST MAGA MURDER BUDGET BILL

Trump's MAGA Murder Budget Bill is as much an expression of his fascist agenda as his ICE raids, tariff threats, military parade, and disinformation campaign.  It will kill thousands of Americans who will lose health care and food assistance, while funding the biggest military budget in decades and exponentially more ICE raids and exploding the debt. MAGA Senate proposals are even worse. Only killing the bill will save Americans from these travesties.

Why call your Members of Congress

Members of Congress have told us repeatedly that our calls matter. When they meet with their colleagues in Congress, they say "I'm getting swamped with calls about this illegal power grab. We need to take action."

If you're represented by Democrats: They are our best defense in Washington DC. They can throw sand in the gears of the Trump regime by using tools such as parliamentary procedures. And they have the power to call attention to particular issues via press, social media, special events. In short: our elected officials have power, and we must push them to wield it.

If you're represented by Republicans: Our calls let them know just how unpopular their actions are. We make them nervous, even if they don't show it. We make it hard for them to take actions that hurt Americans.

Calling tips

  • State your name, your zip code or neighborhood, and why you're calling

  • Stick to one issue per call

  • Don't worry about getting pulled into a debate -- the staffer will simply document your message.

  • Be respectful. The person on the other end of the line is likely a staffer who handles numerous calls daily. Being polite makes your message more likely to be heard and taken seriously.

  • Use personal stories when possible. When you share how an issue affects you personally, or why it matters to you, your message is more likely to resonate and be remembered.
